Systems can be upgraded in various ways
Service
Typical cost ex VAT

Adding more memory - suitable for recent Pentium / AMD type machines which use DIMMS
SIMM memory for older machines is not readily available
I wouldn't use less than 512Mb if running Windows XP

£35 for 512Mb fitted
Adding an extra hard disk £32.50 for 80Gb fitted
Replacing current hard disk - requires copying all data from your old hard disk to the new one £25 plus disk cost
Updating CD-ROMs - easily done by replacing original £10 for 52 x fitted
Adding DVD/CD Re-writer Combo (16 x DVD 52r x 52w x 32rw CD-RW) £20 fitted
Adding DVD-ROM drive / DVD-RW £15 for DVD / £30 for DVD-RW
Updating processor - This is not as easy as it sounds as different motherboards only support
                                 certain processor types and speeds.
In most cases it would require a motherboard and memory upgrade as well
                                 as a processor upgrade.
You would also need a new power supply if upgrading to AMD Athlon or                                  Pentium 4
This would then involve updating windows with the new motherboard                                  drivers.
£175
for motherboard, AMD Sempron 2800, 512Mb Memory & ATX case. Includes fitting and set up.
Adding TV & Radio Card £40 fitted

Propriety systems are not easily upgradable (eg IBM, ICL, HP, Compaq, Elonex) as their motherboards and cases are not industry standard.

Before any definite quotes can be given I must be able to see the system.
